Ode To Love

In honour of Valentine’s Day, I’ve written a couple of love poems for a work contest, so I thought I’d post them here! Hope you enjoy.

If I could capture the stars from the skies,
They could never compare to the light in your eyes.
Fever bright, burning with possibility.
The tender nothings; of you, of me.
I start a thousand poems, all dedicated to you.
Yet words will never describe our symphony for two.
A simple touch, my hand in yours.
Uphill, downhill, you open doors.
When in moments of quiet, our gazes chance to meet.
No eloquence is needed for our hearts to greet.
Each sentence I start, with flourish you finish.
So that love’s laughter shall never diminish.
